Firefighters Extinguish Vehicle Blaze in Islip: FD

ISLIP, NY — Firefighters extinguished a blaze that engulfed a car in Islip earlier this week, the Islip Fire Department told Patch.

The fire department responded to a vehicle fire in a parking lot at 2449 Union Boulevard around 1:50 p.m. and successfully extinguished the flames.

Suffolk County Police told Patch the cause appeared to be a mechanical issue.

No injuries were reported, fire department officials said.
