Fireworks Explosion Severs Man's Fingers In Brentwood: Police

A fireworks explosion​ seriously injured a Brentwood man on Saturday night, Suffolk County Police say.

BRENTWOOD, NY — A fireworks explosion seriously injured a Brentwood man on Saturday night, according to Suffolk County Police.

Barry Nelson, 66, had a fireworks explosion sever three fingers from his right hand and cause serious injuries to his left hand in his yard on Eastern Avenue in Brentwood on Saturday night around 9 p.m., police said.

He was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital in serious condition.
