Flash Flood Warning Issued For Parts Of Town Of Islip

Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.​

TOWN OF ISLIP, NY – The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for western Suffolk County, including areas in the Town of Islip, for Friday afternoon.

The warning is in effect until 1:45 p.m.

Starting at 10:44 a.m., Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.

A band of heavy rain is estimated to be producing one hour rainfall rates of 1 to 1.5 inches and is moving onshore.

Flash flooding is expected to occur in Islip and Brentwood.
