Funeral Services For Evelyn Rodriguez Announced

BRENTWOOD, NY - Funeral services have been announced for Evelyn Rodriguez, the mother of a teen who authorities say was murdered by MS-13 gang members in 2016, who passed away last week.

Rodriguez, an active community member and activist, died Friday after being struck by an SUV while at a memorial service for her daughter, 16-year-old Kayla Cuevas, in Brentwood. She was 50.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 20 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Michael J. Grant Funeral Home on 571 Suffolk Avenue in Brentwood.

A funeral mass is scheduled for Friday, September 21 starting at 9:45 a.m. at the St Anne RC Church on 88 Second Avenue in Brentwood.

Rodriguez will then be buried at the Queen of All Saints cemetery in Central Islip, next to her daughter.
