LI Ducks Defeated By Stormers In Four-Game Series Finale

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — The Long Island Ducks were defeated 13-4 by the Lancaster Stormers on Sunday in the last of a four-game series that kicked off on April 25 with a season opening win for the Ducks.

The loss came during a home game Fairfield Properties Ballpark where the Stormers plated three runs in the opening inning against Ducks starter Charlie Neuweiler. A two-run home run to right field by Kyle Hess in the second inning brought the Stormers' lead to five, according to the Ducks.

The Stormers were leading 8-0 after three runs in the third inning until outfielder Tyler Dearden got the Ducks on the scoreboard with a two-run home run to right-center in the fourth inning.

After Rixon Wingrove got the Ducks their first run in the sixth inning, the Stormers' Cristian Santana hit a three-run homer in the ninth and rounded out the scoring for Lancaster, the Ducks said.

The Ducks play a home game against the Staten Island FerryHawks Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. kicking off a three-game series and the 2024 Battle of the Belt.
