BRENTWOOD, NY — A Brentwood man was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison after fatally stabbing his cousin and stabbing his girlfriend nine times in front of her son, Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said.

Wilson Felipe Andrade-Molina, 38, of Brentwood, was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision on Wednesday after a jury found him guilty in May second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault for fatally stabbing his cousin at his place of employment and then going to his cousin’s Brentwood home and stabbing the cousin’s girlfriend in front of her 21-year-old son, the DA said.

The evidence at trial established that on March 30, 2023, Andrade-Molina and his cousin, Miguel Andrade-Cando, worked together as machinists at Electronic Machine Parts in Hauppauge, Tierney said.

At about 7:22 a.m., surveillance video captured Andrade-Molina arriving at work shortly before Andrade-Cando; within mere minutes of the victim’s arrival, the defendant fatally stabbed him in the neck, the DA said.

Immediately after killing his cousin, the Andrade-Molina went directly to Andrade-Cando’s home in Brentwood, the home his cousin shared with his girlfriend and her 21-year-old son, the DA said. Once there, Andrade- Molina entered the home and stabbed his cousin’s girlfriend about nine times, almost killing her, TIerney said.
Her son, who was sleeping at the time, awakened to the screams of his mother as she was being attacked, the DA said.

When the young man tried to go to his mother’s aid, Andrade-Molina advanced toward him with the knife and threatened him; Andrade-Molina then went back to the woman and continued to stab her before he fled the scene, the DA said.
The Suffolk County Police Department located Andrade-Molina in Bay Shore a short time later and placed him under arrest, Tierney said.

The woman suffered life-threatening injuries including a lacerated liver, punctures to her diaphragm and lungs, and lacerations to her arm, shoulder, breast, and torso, the DA said.

On May 23, Andrade-Molina was convicted of second-degree murder, a felony; and second-degree attempted murder, a felony, after a three-week jury trial heard before Supreme Court Justice Timothy Mazzei, Tierney said.

Andrade-Molina was represented by Steve Politi.

"He didn't do it. The jury got it wrong. He would never harm his cousin," Politi told Patch in May.

“While this sentence cannot undo the pain and suffering caused, we hope it provides some measure of closure to the victims and their families,” said Tierney. “We remain dedicated to resolving every case, no matter how challenging, and to standing beside victims throughout the process. Our thoughts are with those affected by this tragedy as they continue to heal.”
