Man Dies After Being Struck By SUV In Brentwood Friday Night: Police

BRENTWOOD, NY — A pedestrian died after being struck by an SUV in Brentwood Friday night, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place on Wicks Road, south of Merrill Street, at 8:55 p.m. A man was crossing the road when he was struck by a southbound 2016 Honda CRV, driven by MD Uddin, 58, of Bay Shore, police said.

The man was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead; his name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, police said.

Uddin was not injured; the vehicle was impounded for a safety check, police said.

No charges were filed in the crash, police said.
