BROOKLYN, NY — The team behind Paloma Coffee and Bakery is expanding its presence in Brooklyn with a new bakery.

Paloma the Bakery, situated at 163 Nassau Ave., is hosting a "soft open" until Friday at 1 p.m. Customers can pick up a sampling of their favorite pastries, such as a pistachio chocolate pain suisse, a bacon cheddar scone and a traditional chocolate croissant.

Paloma Coffee and Bakery began as a storefront during the COVID-19 epidemic and has since grown into a prominent corner coffee shop on Manhattan Avenue, with an additional location in Williamsburg.

"Since the opening of our first tiny shop in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, in the fall of 2020, we have committed ourselves to curating an extensive coffee menu that reflects the myriad tastes and preferences of our community," the team at Paloma Coffee and Bakery said.

Their newest site on Nassau Avenue will feature a bakery workshop, an espresso bar, and a retail section, all within a 2,000-square-foot space.

Owners Reuben Villagomez and Alexander Zecena told Greenpointers that the future menu promises a variety of hand-made viennoiserie, integrating flavors like Serrano ham, Spanish olive oil, saffron, and seasonal fruits, inspired by Villagomez’s travels in Spain.

Previously, the property was occupied by Jaslowiczanka Bakery, a small Polish bakery that served a variety of pastries such as babka's and donuts, along with strawberry gelatin-based desserts.
