BROOKLYN, NY — Crown Heights' Agi's Counter received its second Michelin nod this year, joining four others in Brooklyn to land on the restaurant giant's list of top-tier value eats.

Michelin Guide on Wednesday named eleven new "Bib Gourmands," or eateries with great food at a great price — and five of the spots hail from Brooklyn.

In Central Brooklyn, Agi's Counter on Union Street near Franklin Avenue earned accolades for its confit tuna melt, fried egg biscuit sandwich and crepes.

Mexican eatery Alta Calidad on Vanderbilt Avenue and Dean Street earned the Michelin acknowledgment on account of its social atmosphere, shrimp tacos, carne asada and octopus and pork belly skewer.

It's not the first time Alta Calidad has received the Bib Gourmand nod — its well-priced eats also were also recognized in 2018. Plates at Alta Calidad generally sit around $16-$19, with an epic $80 12-taco platter and desserts.

Gowanus's "quirky" Café Mars was named a Bib Gourmand eatery with "equal parts modern and nostalgic eats" with pasta dishes sitting around $26 and appetizers ranging from $9 to $18.

Park Slope Italian spot Flora was also a noted high-value spot, with "winning" ambiance and fragrant lemon ravioli. Top off the meal with a lemon dish imported directly from the Amalfi Coast.

Starters on Flora's menu range from $21 to $34 and pastas sit around $30. Mains range from $25 to $32.

And in Williamsburg, Thai eatery KRU on North 14th Street is a must-hit with dishes generally ranging around $15-$28. Michelin Guide recommends the eatery's cauliflower "pla" and rice omelet.
