BROOKLYN, NY — A dismembered body found in a Brooklyn apartment Monday was a homicide, police said Friday — and authorities suspect a resident of the same apartment building was responsible.

Heather Stines, 45, of Brooklyn, faces a concealment of a human corpse charge related to the discovery of a dismembered body inside an apartment's refrigerator and freezer on Nostrand Avenue between Farragut and Glenwood roads, according to police and PIX11.

The woman lives in the same apartment where the body was found as police were conducting a wellness check, according to the NYPD.
