BROOKLYN, NY — An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested and charged Tuesday evening for allegedly stalking and harassing his ex-girlfriend, police said.

Zeidyyeh Zaid, 25, was taken into custody around 8 p.m. on Aug. 6 and faces charges of aggravated harassment in the second degree and stalking in the fourth degree.

Police officials were unable to comment on the charges as of Wednesday afternoon but confirmed that the case is related to a domestic issue.

A NYPD spokesperson did not provide further details.

According to police records, Zaid has been a member of the NYPD since April 2022 and currently serves at Police Service Area 3.
