Mayor Eric Adams Says He 'Did Nothing Wrong’ After Finance Subpoena

NEW YORK CITY — Mayor Eric Adams has said he "did nothing wrong" following the news that he was subpoenaed by federal prosecutors investigating his 2021 campaign finances.

"We've been extremely transparent about making sure if there are documents that's looked at, they're going to see text messages or any other items, Adams told J.R. Giddings on GMGT Live’s “The Reset Talk Show" on Friday.

"We're going to turn it over and walk away. I believe showing that I did nothing wrong."

The comments come after Adams, his election committee and City Hall received three federal subpoenas in July related to an investigation into alleged donations from the Turkish government to Adams’ 2021 mayoral campaign, according to a New York Times report.

“I’m a former law enforcement person. I believe in following the rules, and I’ve stated it all over and over again. We’re going to turn over any information that is needed to come to a swift conclusion in this review," Adams told the radio host.

Similarly, In November, the FBI raided the home of Adams’ top fundraiser and the offices of KSK, a Turkish construction company, according to Gothamist.

Currently, none of Adams' campaign staff or the mayor himself have been charged with any wrongdoing.
