BROOKLYN, NY — The third and final at-large suspect connected to a mid-sermon live streamed gunpoint robbery of a flashy preacher in Brooklyn was fatally shot by US Marshals in New Jersey Wednesday, according to reports and authorities.

Shamar Leggette, 41, was fatally shot at a motel in New Jersey about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday — over a year after police say he was involved in the $1 million robbery caught on video, according to the New York Post.

Authorities did not release the name of the person killed Wednesday but the man he robbed, the "bling-bling bishop" Lamor Whitehead — known for exhibiting his pricy tastes in jewelry, Fendi suits and Rolls Royce automobiles — and multiple news outlets identified the man as Leggette, who has been on the run since the robbery.

Two other people suspected to be involved in the robbery, Juwan Anderson and Sayquan Pollack, were arrested and charged a few months after, but Leggette remained at large — landing him near the top of the state's most wanted list.

Whitehead took to Instagram to share his condolences for Leggette's family.

"I want the world to understand that I've forgiven him," Whitehead said. "What happened happened... I need everybody to understand that I am praying for the Leggette family."

On Wednesday, US Marshals arrived at a motel in New Jersey about 2:05 p.m. on an arrest warrant for a person suspected of multiple felonies, according to New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin.

Just about 40 minutes later, the suspect "exchanged gunfire with officers" and was pronounced dead by 4:30 p.m., Platkin said. No officers were hit during the shooting, authorities said.

The 2022 robbery itself was nearly as dramatic — police said the three suspected robber barged into the packed Remsen Avenue church in July 2022 and, armed with guns, demanded property from Whitehead and his wife, who was holding their eight-month-old child.

The men fled with about $1 million in goods — and the whole robbery was caught on livestream, police said.
