BROOKLYN, NY — A not-your-average sports bar recently opened in Flatbush, just in time for the Super Bowl.

Local entrepreneur Jonathan Yearwood, the mind behind The Burger House on Fulton Street, is expanding his enterprise by launching his newest culinary project — D’OEUVRE.

Located at 1775 Flatbush Avenue, in his beloved East Flatbush neighborhood, the opulent dining destination features Yearwood's signature menu in an upscale, family-friendly environment.

Local neighboring business owners, elected officials, including NYPD brass, the family, and friends joined Yearwood for a festive ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the official opening of the new local eatery.

“There's nothing like opening a new business and seeing someone's dreams come to fruition,” Hercules Reid, NYC Mayor’s Office Brooklyn Director said.

D’OEUVRE, which is part of Yearwood’s Burger House franchise, was conceived in the middle of COVID-19.

“While sheltering in, I wanted something good to eat besides what was being offered in my neighborhood,” Yearwood said. “So, I set out to create it.” The results — The Burger House — an eatery that is an homage to Yearwood's "southern tastebuds."

“With D’OEUVRE, I wanted to expand on that vision and create an upscale, family-friendly environment and local place where everyone feels at home,” Yearwood said.

The menu will feature a variety of starters, such as flavored wings, salmon sliders and egg rolls. Main courses include rib-eye steak, lamb chops, oxtail, stuffed snapper, lobster mac and cheese, coco curry shrimp, salmon filet, and a variety of pasta.

Yearwood graduated from Erasmus High School in Brooklyn, where he was a standout football player and two-time city champion. He later attended and graduated from South Carolina State University with a bachelor's degree in Business and Family Consumer Sciences.

After returning home from school and witnessing his community's financial challenges, Yearwood stated that he wanted to embark on an entrepreneurial path, beginning numerous successful businesses before launching The Burger House Franchise.

"Growing up in Brooklyn, the Fulton Street corridor has always been the ideal place to launch and grow successful businesses," Yearwood previously told Patch. "Although a few have closed because of the pandemic, there has been a wealth of new black-owned businesses that have opened."

Patrons who come by on the day of the Super Bowl, on Feb. 11, will benefit from one of D’OEUVRE's many promotions — in honor of the game and opening weekend.
