Prospect Expressway Exit Ramp To I-278 To Close Overnight Wednesday

The NYSDOT said the ramp closure will take place Wednesday night through Friday, from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. each morning.

BROOKLYN, NY — The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) announced the upcoming closure of the Exit 1 (Hamilton Avenue) ramp on the westbound Prospect Expressway to Gowanus Expressway in Brooklyn.

The closure will go into effect Wednesday, May 22 through Friday, May 24 from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. each morning.

Traffic will be detoured at Exit 2 (4th Avenue/3rd Avenue) and rerouted along Prospect Avenue to Hamilton Avenue. Motorists should follow the signed detour, the NYSDOT advised.

Inclement weather could cause these closures to be rescheduled.

These closures are needed to facilitate work on NYSDOT’S concrete pavement preservations project at various locations in New York City.
