Rachel Ambats on Why Your Next Vacation Should Be A Staycation

There are so many benefits of exploring your city.

Sometimes you really need a vacation. Your work and personal life can easily become too hectic, leading you to want to get away. It’s sometimes so urgent that you don’t have any time to plan for an elaborate trip abroad. A staycation is the best way to take a break and get away, without actually going anywhere. Here are some benefits of a staycation.

No Travel Stress

Along with a great international, or even domestic, vacation comes the dreaded airport stress. When traveling, you have to ensure that you have everything you need while remaining in compliance with the TSA rules. Then, you have to make sure that you get to the airport on time because you never know how long it will actually take to make it through TSA. Choosing to take a staycation lets you avoid this travel stress because you can spend that travel time catching up on sleep or doing a fun activity.

Save Money

Traveling expenses are mostly made up of transportation and lodging. Even if you book your trip far in advance, these two things are most likely to take up the biggest chunk of your budget. A staycation can be done from the comforts of your own home and still be filled with just as many fun activities as you would have in another city. If you really want a change of scenery, you could stay at a local hotel for a night and pretend that you’re a tourist in your own town. The biggest thing to remember is, a staycation doesn’t have to cost a lot for it to help you relax and take a moment away.

No Need To Plan

Many people who travel create a plan or itinerary for when they reach their destination. Planning your trip ahead of time can get stressful or overwhelming. When you’re on your vacation, your preplanned itinerary may just be too dense and too rigid that it takes away from the relaxing vacation vibe. On your staycation, you can do anything that you want. You already know the area and don’t have to worry about navigating or transportation and have an idea of the cool parts of town to visit.

You Get to Explore Your Own City

While taking a staycation, you should focus your time and money on activities and trying things that you have been putting off. Many of us drive or walk past a restaurant or store all the time that we think we will one day get to visit. On a staycation, you have the opportunity to visit these places that have been on your list. You also get to explore and find new things that could become your new regular spot.
