Woman Fatally Struck By Dump Truck In Brooklyn: NYPD

A woman in her 60s or 70s was fatally struck by a dump truck that kept driving Monday morning in Greenpoint, police said.

GREENPOINT, NY — A dump truck driver kept moving after fatally striking a woman in her 60s or 70s Monday morning, according to the NYPD.

The woman was struck by a truck turning left from Richardson Street onto Kingsland Avenue about 6:50 a.m., police said.

The severely injured woman was rushed to a nearby hospital where she died, police said.

A police source told Patch it's possible for large vehicle drivers to not know they have hit something, but police would investigate whether that was the case in Monday's crash.
