Annual Touch-A-Truck Returns April 29

Kids of all ages will have a chance to interact with vehicles they usually can't get close to.

Long Island's favorite day of heavy machinery is returning to Eisenhower Park this month with the annual Touch-A-Truck event.

On April 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., kids of all ages will have the opportunity to get up close, sit in and take photos with dozens of unique trucks and vehicles. The free event is sponsored by Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano and the Cox Media Group.

Kids will have a chance to look at and explore big rigs, fire trucks, police cars, emergency rescue trucks, military vehicles, construction equipment and more.

Touch-A-Truck can get pretty loud. There will be a horn-free hour starting at 10 a.m. for people with special needs or sensitive ears.

Though the event is free, it is also a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, which provides comfort to families experiencing the pain of having a sick child in a local hospital. Attendees are encouraged to bring paper goods, cleaning supplies or non-perishable food as a donation. For a wish list of items the Ronald McDonald house is looking for, click here.
