It will feature Ethnic and BBQ foods, live music, kids’ games, flea market, basket raffle, $1,000 cash prize raffle, church tours, prayer services, and religious items. Admission is free. The Orthodox Christian Church has believed, taught, preserved, defended, and died for the faith of Jesus Christ and the Apostles since the day of Pentecost over 2,000 years ago. The Orthodox Church offers you the authentic Christian Tradition which fulfills life on a daily basis, not just on Sunday. We invite you to worship with us at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 369 Green Avenue, East Meadow. The parish, founded in 1924, is the first Orthodox Christian parish in the Nassau/Suffolk area and centrally located in mid-island East Meadow. Holy Trinity is a diverse community of Orthodox Christians who come from all walks of life and ethnicities, gathering in the oneness of Faith to worship God in the fullness of the Church’s liturgical life. The parish also has a strong commitment to serving others through various charities. We welcome all people seeking a community rooted in the oldest Christian Church with an emphasis on Holy Scripture, Holy Tradition, liturgical and prayer life, and traditional Christian values.
All services are conducted in English. The Divine Liturgy (Eucharist) is celebrated every Sunday and feast day at 9:30 AM (Hours at 9:00 AM). Please be aware that only Orthodox Christians are allowed to partake of the Eucharist and other sacraments because of the ancient canons, but others are welcome to receive a blessing. Coffee hour follows the Divine Liturgy every Sunday. Vespers (evening prayer) are served every Saturday and on the eve of feast days at 6:00 PM. About the headliner, Josh Gondelman:
Josh Gondelman is a writer and comedian who incubated in Boston before moving to New York City, where he currently lives and recently worked as the head writer and an executive producer for Desus &amp; Mero on Showtime. Gondelman also contributed to the final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which was a thrill for both him and his parents. Prior to that, he spent five years at Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, first as a web producer and then as a staff writer where he earned four Emmy Awards, two Peabody Awards, and three WGA Awards.&nbsp;

Drive-in style outdoor movie in the library reading garden. In case of inclement weather, the raindate will be September 30.
Join film historian Keith Crocker and the Reader Services Department as we host an evening of horror inspired by Edgar Allan Poe. Using a rare 16mm film print, Keith Crocker will show Phantom of the Rue Morgue from 1954, which is based on Poe’s “The Murders in the Rue Morgue.” This movie is truly a lost classic as it has never been released on DVD in the United States. This film will be shown in the library’s reading garden, drive-in style. When several women are found mutilated and murdered, the Paris police are baffled as to who the killer may be. All evidence points to Dupin, but soon it becomes apparent that it is someone (or something) stronger and deadlier than a human. Besides presenting the film, Keith Crocker will discuss other movies that have been adapted from Poe’s works. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the show!
