Eternal Con Expands Star-Studded Celebrity Guest Line-Up & Adds Special Adam West Tribute for Epic Fifth Year

Largest event of its kind expands celebrity guest roster & adds Adam West Tribute taking place at New Nassau Coliseum July 1 and July 2.

Uniondale, NY, June 22, 2017 – Eternal Con, Long Island’s premier Comic Book and Cosplay convention returns bigger than ever before for its fifth anniversary, two-day extravaganza on July 1 and 2 giving fans the rare chance to meet and mingle with some of their favorite characters from TV and the movies. To accommodate the event’s growth and popularity, it is moving to an all-new space at the New Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY.

“For 2017 we are creating an exciting and fun event for comic aficionados, superhero TV and movie fans, dedicated cosplayers and the Long Island community that is bigger than ever before,” said Eternal Con founder Frank Patz. “Eternal Con 2017 is going to be the event of the summer and people will talk about it for years to come.”

Show attendees will have the opportunity to meet, take photos with and receive autographs from some of their favorite actors and actresses from TV and film, which includes a recently expanded list of celebrities. Among this year’s celebrity guests are now Edward James Olmos (Blade Runner 1 & 2, Battlestar Galactica, Agents of SHIELD), Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool 1 and 2), legendary TV icon Lee Meriwether (Batman ’66, Star Trek, Time Tunnel), actors Paul Blake (“Greedo” in Star Wars), Helen Slater (Supergirl, Legend of Billie Jean, Smallville and Bethpage native), Jerome Blake (Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, The Fifth Element), Maggie Geha (“Poison Ivy” in Gotham), Jason Faunt (TV’s Power Rangers, Resident Evil 6), Michael Copon (TV’s Power Rangers, One Tree Hill), Erin Cahill (TV’s Power Rangers, Resident Evil: Vendetta), Kevin Kleinberg (TV’s Power Rangers Time Force), Deborah Estelle Philips (TV’s Power Rangers Time Force), David Harris (The Warriors), Terry Michos (The Warriors), Monique Dupree (Plan 9, Lean On Me), WWE and UFC Fighter CM Punk, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, WWE Hall of Famer Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, WWE fighters The Nasty Boys, ECW and WWE Fighter Tommy Dreamer, and WWE Diva Ashley Massaro, TNA Knockout Velvet Sky, WWE, TNA and Ring of Honor fighter Bully Ray, pro wrestler Andrew Anderson and Grindhouse radio personality Brimstone.

A special tribute to TV’s “Batman” star Adam West, who recently passed away at the age of 88 from leukemia, will also be held during the event. Fans will be able to pay tribute to the actor in a designated area where they can leave cards, letters and small mementos, as well as write messages, leave notes and messages and memories on a tribute wall. Additionally, a small number of event-exclusive Adam West-related prints will be available for purchase at the event. All proceeds will be donated and designated to help children with childhood leukemia.

Among the top names in the comic book industry attending are former Marvel Editor-in-Chief Jim Shooter, Sean Chen (X-Men, Iron Man), Billy Tucci (Shi, Wonder Woman), Frank Tieri (Wolverine, Iron Man), Nik Virella (All-New Wolverine, IDW's G.I. Joe), and over 100 comic book professionals expected to be in attendance.

Also returning will be Eternal Con’s Cosplay Contest, a unique homemade costume construction event held with a pre-judging session and a walk-through display. Judges will be looking at the costume itself, the workmanship, design, and inspiration. This will be open to groups and individuals, experts and novices, and costumes from mainstream or self-creative. All genres are welcome, including film, television, theater, comics, video games, sci-fi, anime, horror and original creations.

On Sunday, July 2, Eternal Con will host Kids Day. All children 12 and under are half off admission and will feature special events for children including “Youngling Training” where children are invited to join the NY-Jedi instructors in a supervised training session to learn basic Light Saber choreography and technique. Every child who participates will receive a free Light Saber. Also, they will have the chance to meet with artists, writers and other professionals in the comic book industry as well as many of the superheroes that attend Eternal Con, watch live drawing and illustration demos and create their own works of art.

Again this year, Eternal Con will help raise money for several worthy charities working in the local community.

Throughout the weekend attendees will have the opportunity for Portfolio Reviews, Gaming tournaments, informative panels (such as the Women in Comics panel), the return of the Planet of the Apes movie prop gallery, a Car Show with iconic movie vehicles including the 2005 “Batman Begins” Batmobile – “The Tumbler,” the 1966 Batmobile, “Mad Max’s” V8 Police Interceptor, the DeLorean time machine from “Back to the Future,” a Jeep from the original “Jurassic Park” and Supernatural’s Chevrolet Impala, an expanded art show, cosplay groups, special performances, and a vendor room with over 150 tables of toys, jewelry, clothing and collectibles.
