EAST MEADOW, NY — Even though Nassau County doesn't have any ports big enough to dock a warship in, residents can still participate in this year's Navy Fleet Week. A Navy helicopter will be landing at Eisenhower Park on Saturday, and families will be able to take a look.

A team of Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal members from Virginia Beach, Virginia and Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron SEVEN, known as the Dusty Dogs, from Norfolk, Virginia will show how a four-member team can be inserted via helicopter into an area too dangerous for a ship to navigate, while another helicopter provides security. After the air and land demonstration, helicopters will land and be available for public tours.

The landing will start at 10 a.m. on May 28 at Eisenhower Park. The helicopters will be on the field for tours until 2 p.m.
