QUEENS, NY — A large luxury development could be standing on Austin Street by the end of next year, records show.

Rybak Development, a firm specializing in big multi-family projects, filed permits with the Department of Buildings last week to construct a 91-unit development at 78-29 Austin Street.

Dubbed The Austin, the sprawling building on the corner of Austin Street and 78th Avenue would abut the Kew-Forest school, from which developers bought the site for $21 million last month, building records show.

As of Monday the project is still awaiting approval, which is necessary for construction to begin, but developers initially said the building is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

The Austin is slated to have all the fixings of a luxury building, including a gym, spa, lounge and kids room, according to developers.
