70 Firefighters Battle Blaze At Clinton Hill Brownstone, FDNY Says

BROOKLYN, NY — A fire broke out in a brownstone on the edge of Clinton Hill Wednesday morning requiring dozens of firefighters to quell the flames, according to the FDNY.

The blaze erupted at 489 Classon Avenue, a brownstone between Madison and Monroe streets, minutes before 8 a.m., the fire department confirmed.

The department issued an all-hands alarm and 70 firefighters rushed to the brownstone, putting out the blaze by 8:35 a.m., according to the FDNY.

Videos from the scene posted on the safety app Citizen show multiple fire trucks obstructing the street as firefighters worked to get the blaze under control.

No one was hurt in the blaze, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation as of about an hour after the flames were put out, according to the FDNY.
