The Bureau of Labor Statistics released the latest Employment Situation Summary, showing large gains in employment in business services, leisure and hospitality and the healthcare industry.
Overall, the report showed, more than 280,000 jobs were filled in May, up from the average monthly gain of 251,000 over the prior 12 months.

“This is the best combination of numbers we have seen in many months,” Tara M. Sinclair, an associate professor of economics at George Washington University told the New York Times. “Wages are ticking up and attracting people back into the labor force; we are still seeing strong employment growth.”
