Girl Scouts of Nassau County Announces Levittown Resident to Serve on Board Development Committee

Girl Scouts of Nassau County announced today that Levittown resident Rebecca Martinez has been nominated to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Board Development Committee through 2026. Rebecca Martinez was sworn in during the organization’s 59th Annual Meeting, which was held at the Ruth S. Harley University Center on the Adelphi University campus. Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s Board of Directors and Board Development Committee comprises lifelong Girl Scouts, community leaders, and nonprofit and corporative executives who provide leadership, innovation and constant support to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County council.

“Girl Scouts of Nassau County is proud to have such prestigious and accomplished members on its Board of Directors and Board Development Committee who inspire and empower our Girl Scouts,” said Randell Bynum, Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “I am confident that this group of leaders will help cultivate the Girl Scout experience and help fulfill our mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.”

Rebecca Martinez is the Assistant Director of the Career Center at Molloy University. She helps students with the job search process, including resume and cover letter reviews, mock interviews, and employer outreach. She was formerly the Discovery Officer at Molloy, where she carried a portfolio of alumni, found out their interests and passions, and connected them back to their alma mater, both personally and financially. She also created and oversaw the Student Philanthropy Council. Since October 2020, Rebecca has been a troop leader and is looking forward to flying up her Brownies to Juniors at the end of the year. She also serves as the Mags and Munchies Manager. Rebecca earned her BS and MBA in Marketing from St. John’s University and is pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership for the Diverse Learning Community from Molloy University.
