PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Comedian Adam Sandler was unwittingly rejected by an IHOP hostess on Long Island who told him there was a 30-minute wait for a table in a moment more suited for the lovable losers he has played in movies like “Happy Gilmore,” but went viral in a TikTok video.

Hostess Dayanna Rodas posted the video, which features security footage from the Northern Boulevard pancake house, with “Be a clown” by Osuna playing in the background, as well as a photo of herself in clown makeup, noting, “Not realizing its Adam Sandler and telling him it’s a 30min wait and him ofc leaving bc hes not going to wait 30mins for IHOP,” she said.

She then asks the actor: “Pleaseee come back,” in the video which quickly went viral, attracting 18,5000 viewers, something that Rodas could not believe. “What?” she asked in another video with a story about the video as a backdrop.

A publicist confirmed The Huffington Post that it was the 54-year-old actor, but did not release any other details, the outlet reported.

Rodas, 17, told The New York Post she did not recognize Sandler during his April 25 visit for flapjacks and was later alerted by a patron. “It wasn’t until a customer walked in about 15 minutes later saying, “Adam Sandler was outside,’ when I realized I spoke to Adam Sandler!” she told the outlet.

In Rodas’ defense, Sandler was, however, bearded, masked, and dressed inconspicuously in a red North Face hoodie and a pair of shorts as he stood with his daughter in the front of the restaurant’s lobby.

Sandler didn’t drop his name to her either, or break out his “Zohan” character, instead, he just left.

In a follow-up video, Rodas explained why she did not recognize the actor who is considered royalty in the field of comedy. He was a Saturday Night Live regular for many years, before breaking into Hollywood with his first big-screen hit, “Billy Madison.”

"So yeah everyone's asking how I didn't recognize him. It's because he had a big beard. I've never seen Adam Sandler with a beard. And the mask didn't help,” she said.

Despite Rodas’ initial embarrassment, her commenters seemed to be delighted by Sandler’s laidback response.

“The fact that he could have said I am Adam Sandler and didn’t is amazing. Most celebrities would use their status to get them places,” wrote one.

“At least he didn’t use his fame to rush anything. He left like a normal person,” wrote one.

Others, called Rodas out, one writing, “How’d you not realize it was him with those shorts? It’s his signature look.”

And some came to her defense, one writing, “He dresses so normal I would’ve be able to recognize him either.”

Yet another wrote, “He dresses like he is always ready to hoop and I respect him for that.”
