Blumenfeld, Hampshire, Bespoke win LI Business Top Redevelopment Award

The Blumenfeld Development Group (BDG) and its partner the Hampshire Companies along with Bespoke Construction will be honored on June 18 for the construction of their self-storage facility at 71 Jane Street in Roslyn Heights at the Long Island Business News Real Estate, Architecture & Engineering Awards.

The project, which was selected from an extensive list of candidates, is being recognized for its redevelopment of a property that sat dormant and was an eyesore since 2013. The facility which opened in November 2023, encompasses 98,000 square feet and houses over 650 units on four floors within a secure landscape and enhanced by architectural elements such as buffers. The building features a brick and glass exterior located at the end of Jane Street, adjacent to Roslyn Road, north of the Long Island Expressway and just twenty miles from New York City.

The property is operated by Extra Space Storage (NYSE:EXR), the second largest operator of self-storage facilities in the U.S. Chris Robinson and Gino Tedesco R&M Engineering developed the site and civil plans.
