Burglar Bites Homeowner In Great Neck: Police

A struggle broke out after the homeowner confronted the burglar, police say.

A burglar bit a homeowner whose house he was targeting after he was confronted in Great Neck on Thursday afternoon, police say.

According to authorities, 27-year-old Little Neck resident Farbod Hoorizadeh parked in the driveway of an Arbor Street home and attempted to gain entry at 3:10 p.m. Police say he was confronted by the homeowner, which caused a struggle to ensue.

Hoorizadeh attempted to flee back to his car and, when stopped by the homeowner, bit the man's left arm, police say.

Hoorizadeh then, driving in reverse down the driveway, struck the homeowner with his car door, causing the man to be briefly dragged, police say.

Police arrived to the scene and placed Hoorizadeh under arrest without incident.

The homeowner was taken to an area hospital to be treated for a knee injury.

Hoorizadeh was charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, attempted third-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

He will be arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
