Artist Studios To Open Across East Harlem For Day Of Free Viewing

EAST HARLEM, NY — A day of community and art will take place across East Harlem later this month.

East Harlem Open Studios Day will happen on April 22 and 23 within multiple artistic spaces across the neighborhood.

It is a free event where local artists open their doors to the public to share their art.

The event first took place in 2015, but this will be the first time it is happening since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here are the locations and the artists you'll be able to see.

East Harlem Studios Building 1: 181 E. 108th St.

On both days, the spaces will be open from 1 to 6 p.m.

Artist and educator Julio Valdez was inspired by his teacher to form the first East Harlem Open Studios Day in 2015.

It is recommended that you start your journey on Saturday with coffee and pastries at Pabade Bakery at 181 E. 108th St.
