HARLEM, NY — Another fast-casual chain is coming to Harlem, according to news reports.

The Nashville-based seafood chain Captain D’s has penned a 15-year lease on a Lenox Avenue location for their first New York City location, reports Crain's New York Business.

Brokers told the magazine that the new seafood spot, which will take over the 1,400-square-foot ground-floor space from a now-closed seafood eatery, would open within the next six months.

Back in October, Captain D's announced they were fishing for three debut locations across the big apple.

The franchise will be run by Kelly Moughal and Muhammad Saleem, who first introduced the Checkers brand to Manhattan.

Known for their signature batter dipped fish and grilled offerings, Captain D's was founded in 1969 in Nashville, Tenn. and currently has over 530 locations across 23 states — mostly below the Mason Dixon line.

The brand also offers hushpuppies, desserts and freshly brewed, Southern-style sweet tea.

Currently the closest Captain D's restaurant is nearly 300 miles south in Virginia.
