Christmas, Hanukkah Events Near Harlem: See Lightings, Displays
'Tis the season! There are several events scheduled in the coming weeks in New York City to get into the holiday spirit:
HARLEM, NY - There are plenty of things going on in and around Harlem to celebrate the 2023 winter holidays.
Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish festival of lights, starts at sundown on Dec. 7, and ends at nightfall on Dec. 15. Christmas, of course, is on Dec. 25, but you don’t have to wait to start taking in all the sights and sounds of the season.

Christmas tree lightings will take place at:
- Lincoln Square Tree Lighting Ceremony: Nov. 25
- Bryant Park Winter Village: Nov. 28
- Rockefeller Christmas Tree: Nov. 29

- East Harlem Holiday Tree Lighting: Dec. 1
- Washington Square Park Tree Lighting: Dec. 6
