Harlem Free COVID Testing This Week: Churches, Parks, Clinics

Here's a list of where you can get free PCR and rapid COVID tests in Harlem this week, from parks to churches to community centers.

HARLEM, NY — More free COVID-19 testing sites are opening up around Harlem this week as coronavirus cases skyrocket citywide.

During the week of Jan. 3, New York City's Test and Trace Corps will offer PCR testing at parks, NYCHA campuses and public health clinics aorund the neighborhood. Scroll through the list below.

  • Gotham Health – Sydenham: 264 West 118th St., between Frederick Douglass Boulevard and St. Nicholas Avenue.
    • Open Mon-Sat., 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
    • PCR and rapid antigen tests, ages 4+
  • NYCHA Manhattanville: parking lot at 549 West 126th St., just east of Broadway.
    • Open Monday-Sunday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
    • PCR and rapid antigen tests, ages 4+
  • St. Nicholas Park: West 129th Street at St. Nicholas Terrace.
    • Open Tuesday-Sunday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
    • Rapid antigen tests, ages 2+
  • 80 West 125th St.: just east of Malcolm X Boulevard.
    • Open Mon-Fri., Sunday (closed Saturday), 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
    • PCR and rapid antigen tests, ages 2+

In addition, the city continues to operate official testing sites in Harlem:

  • Harlem Hospital (212-423-6262): 506 Lenox Ave., at West 136th Street.
    • Open Mon.-Sun. from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Central Harlem COVID-19 express site: Central Harlem Center, 2238 Fifth Ave. between west 136th and 137th streets. (By appointment only.)

  • Harlem Congregations for Community Improvement, Inc. (Petioni): 203 West 146th St., between Frederick Douglass Boulevard and Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Boulevard.
    • Open Monday and Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Harlem Congregations for Community Improvement, Inc. (Dinkins): 263 West 153rd St., between Frederick Douglass Boulevard and Macombs Place:
    • Open Thursday only, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Besides the city-run sites, the state is also running a free COVID testing site at the Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building on 125th Street, where appointments can be booked online.

All of these tests are free, and ID and insurance cards are not needed at city-run sites, some of which also offer vaccines.

These free sites are the latest to open in Harlem as the omicron variant rapidly spreads across New York, bringing the statewide positive case count to 85,476 on Saturday — a staggering number that smashed the previous all-time record.
