HARLEM, NY — The identity of the man found stabbed to death following an alleged brawl on the Fourth of July in Harlem has been publicly revealed.

David Burns, 52, from Harlem, was the man found by police in front of 220 West 136 Street, near Adam Clayton Powell Blvd., with various stab wounds all around his chest and right arm, officials said.

Officials have since ruled Burns' death a homicide and are still searching for the assailant who fled the scene after the knife attack.

The violent attack came to the NYPD's attention at about 9:15 p.m. Thursday when police officers responded to a 911 call about a man with stab wounds laying in front of the Harlem apartment building.

EMS rushed Burns to Harlem Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
