Patch and T-Mobile are partnering to shine a light on awesome moms in the Harlem area. Meet Sharene Roig!

(Patch)

HARLEM, NY— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

This submission comes from Ernestine Morrison who nominated Sharene Roig of Harlem.

What makes your Mom extra special?

Sharene is personable, professional at all times and always willing to assist or redirect anyone fearful of being assaulted or who has been assaulted and is unsure of where to go and what the next step should be. Sharene is a Social Worker helping women, girls and others experiencing or having experienced victim assault, sexual assault, domestic assault and/or intimate partner assault. Sharene is compassionate, physically and emotionally available to all who seek her out through her agency.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

Sharene deserves the spotlight because she herself is a beacon of light and direction when others are in darkness and uncertainty.

Happy Mother's Day to Sharene Roig, and thank you for all you do!
