Harlem's Newest 'Affordable' Housing Asks $2.3K For A Studio

Applicants must earn at least $79,235 a year to qualify for an apartment with no bedroom.

HARLEM — Harlem's newest "affordable" housing costs $2,300 a month, demands a minimum $80,000 income and doesn't include bedrooms, city records show.

The five studio apartments at 251 West 117th St. will cost lucky applicants who earn 125 percent of the Area Median Income exactly $2,311 a month, the new NYC Housing Connect listing shows.

To qualify, single New Yorkers must earn between $79,235 and $128,570 a year. Brave couples interested in splitting a studio must earn a collective $146,900 a year.

Oh, and expect to pay your own electric bill or go without a stove.

"Tenant is responsible for electricity which includes electric stove," the listing reads.

Apartment amenities include an in-unit dishwasher. The elevator building has a gym, rooftop terrace, virtual doorman, laundry and bike storage.
