Presented in collaboration with Harlem Stage and the World Music Institute.
In the final Uptown Nights series event of the season, Harlem Stage celebrates Caribbean-American Heritage Month and Black Music Appreciation Month in a special collaboration with World Music Institute and the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute. Afro-Dominican bandleader Yasser Tejeda performs a combination of traditional folkloric music and jazz, rock, and Caribbean rhythms. Haitian DJ Sabine Blaizin (Oyasound) spins diasporic dance music before and after the performance.
