HARLEM, NYC — A 66-year-old city employee was arrested and charged in Harlem with attempted assault and harassment this week, authorities said.

Tsaddiyq-Nasah Makarios, an employee with the New York City Housing Authority, which runs to provide decent, affordable housing for low- and moderate-income New Yorkers, was taken into custody at around 10:35 a.m., police said.

An NYPD spokesperson told Patch that Makarios and an unidentified second party got into an altercation, which ultimately turned violent.

Makarios was charged with attempted assault, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment charges, according to the NYPD.

Little else was shared by police officials about the incident that landed Makarios in cuffs.

Makarios was arraigned Monday, pleaded not guilty and has since been released from custody without bail while a case is pending, according to New York City court records.
