HARLEM, NY — Police have arrested a third individual linked to the drive-by assault on an on-duty NYPD traffic enforcement agent in Harlem, where the agent was sprayed with a fire extinguisher.

Ethan Olivo, 18, was arrested on Tuesday and is facing second-degree assault charges for his involvement in the attack that took place on May 23.

Olivo, Ammar Alhesheshi, and Escarlin Polanco Gonzalez were in a gray sedan that approached the 43-year-old agent, who was seated in a marked NYPD vehicle near the intersection of Saint Nicholas Ave. and W. 118th St. around 6:50 a.m., police said.

An NYPD spokesperson said that as the trio approached the police car, one passenger in the sedan discharged a fire extinguisher, blasting the agent in the face.

A video shared on Instagram depicting the attack shows a front-seat passenger in the car holding a fire extinguisher in his lap. He then shouts "Yo!" at the agent before spraying into the open window of the police car.

The driver of the sedan fled the scene, driving on St. Nicholas Avenue, leaving the agent seated in the driver’s seat of the NYPD vehicle.

Medics rushed the unidentified traffic agent to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital for treatment of an eye injury due to the attack, officials said.

Last week, authorities apprehended Alhesheshi, aged 18, in connection to the attack and formally charged him with second-degree assault. Following his arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court, records indicate he was released without bail.

Still at large is Escarln Polanco Gonzalez, 19, police said.

Anyone with information in regard to the incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
