Seasoned Vegan, Popular Harlem Eatery, Closing Storefront Next Month

The immensely popular restaurant at 55 St. Nicholas Ave. will have its final day in Harlem on April 1, before relocating to Lower Manhattan.

HARLEM, NY — Seasoned Vegan, an immensely popular restaurant in Harlem, will have is final day in the neighborhood on April 1.

The restaurant at 55 St. Nicholas Ave. on West 113th Street has served up a menu of vegan cuisine for the last nine years.

The eatery announced on Instagram this weekend that it will be closing on the first day of next month and relocating to a space in Lower Manhattan at 128 Second Ave., between 7th and 8th streets.

The restaurant cited problems with the landlord as the reason for its relocation.

"After over 9 years of serving our neighborhood healthy, affordable food, our landlords have decided they no longer want us as tenants and so we will be forced to relocate," Seasoned Vegan wrote on its Instagram. "We can't thank you enough for all the love and support we've received over the past 9 years at this location, and we hope you love our new transition to our new location."

For the final days in the Harlem location, the restaurant will only be offering select items, including BBQ Crawfish, Crawfish Po'Boy, Chicken Nuggets, and its seasoned french fries.

The thank you messages and well wishes came pouring into the Instagram post, including from New Jersey Senator Corey Booker.

"I love you all so much," Booker commented on the Instagram post. "I am so grateful to the joy you have brought me, my family and friends and the larger community. I wish you the best on the road ahead."

"Seasoned Vegan is so loved in our home," a different person wrote. "Your Mac and cheese was the first and still only vegan mac I’ve ever craved."
