HARLEM — A toy on Harlem subway tracks foiled uptown commuters Friday morning as cops launched an investigation into whether or not it was a grenade, police and the MTA said.

The NYPD rushed to the 125th Street 4, 5 and 6 station on Lexington Avenue about 8:45 a.m. to investigate the suspicious object on the tracks, police said.

Southbound 5 service was suspended between The Bronx and Manhattan and northbound trains rerouted to the 2 line between Nevins Street in Brooklyn and 149th Street-Grand Concourse, the MTA said.

The 6 line saw service halted between 86th Street and Third Avenue-138th Street in both directions, with some southbound trains in The Bronx making their final stop at Hunts Point Avenue, according to the MTA.

Ultimately, the suspicious object turned out to be a toy, a police spokesperson told Patch.
