'Uptown Night Market' Returns To Harlem This Week

The popular monthly event will return to West Harlem this week with food, music and more.

HARLEM, NY — Nearing the end of its successful first season, the popular Uptown Night Market will return to West Harlem this week for the second-to-last time.

The monthly event kicked off in August (after getting rained out in July), taking over the space under the Riverside Drive Viaduct on 12th Avenue at West 135th Street. The evening event fills the corridor with food vendors, music and more.

This month's market will be held on Thursday, Oct. 14, from 4-10 p.m. On tap this month is "The Taste of Harlem," a special event created by the NYC Women Chambers of Commerce that focuses on local restaurants and chefs.

More than 50 vendors will be there, from Sam's Fried Ice Cream to Black Rican Vigan to Butterfunk Biscuit. Musical performers will include City Love NYC, CAPTAIN & THE NU GYPSIES, and DJ Cosi, according to organizers.

This month's market is hosted in partnership with the West Harlem Development Corporation, Gorillas.App, Harlem Park 2 Park, and the Harlem Arts Alliance. One more market will cap off the season on Nov. 11, according to organizers MASC Hospitality.
