- Bike ridership on the Brooklyn Bridge rose by 26% last year, after the addition of a new protected bike lane. While most city bridges saw a pandemic-related increase in bike traffic from 2019 to 2020, Brooklyn Bridge had actually slightly decreased that year, given the previous difficulty to ride on it while navigating a narrow pedestrian walkway.
