The 14th Annual Dumpling Eating contest is coming to Atlantic Antic in September. Here's what you need to know.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — A dumpling eating contest is coming to Brooklyn Heights in September and the winner is going to walk away with a $2,000 prize, organizers have announced.

The 14th Annual Dumpling Eating Contest will be one of the many diversions offered at Atlantic Antic street festival, slated for Sept. 24, where 24 men and 24 women will compete to see who can eat the most amount of dumplings in a two-minute time frame.

Contests face off against a plate of 40 dumplings that will be replenished once the dumplings have been consumed, according to the official rules.

The avid dumpling-eaters will appear on the Atlantic Antic main-stage on Atlantic Avenue and Clinton Street at 2 p.m. on Sept. 24.

Dumplings come courtesy of Chef One, a dumpling company run out of Bushwick brewery with hipster-friendly flavors such as "kale and chicken" and "sweet potato pie."

Organizers have not yet disclosed what flavor of dumplings the contestants will have to swallow en-masse.

Registration costs $20 — proceeds will benefit Food Bank for New York City — and the deadline to sign up is Sept. 15.

Atlantic Antic, the epic street fair that has been taking over the avenue for the past 43 years, will run from noon to 6 p.m. and admission is free. The 2017 theme is “The Pulse of Brooklyn.”
