Hicksville Woman Accused Of Stealing $339,958 From Company: NCPD

Police allege she paid off personal credit cards with checks from the Plainview firm.

PLAINVIEW, NY — The Nassau County Police Fraud and Forgery Unit has accused a Hicksville woman of stealing $339,958 from her employer over 18 months.

Elizabeth Stern, 52, of 23 Arpad St. was arrested Tuesday.

Police accused her of stealing from her former employer, Superior Air Condition & Heating Systems Inc. Detectives said that over an 18-month period, she paid off her personal credit cards with checks that were stolen from the victim for a total of $301,958. During that same time period, she also cashed checks totaling about $38,000.

She was arrested at her residence without incident, police said.

Stern is charged with grand larceny, five counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, five counts of identity theft, five counts of unlawful possession of personal identifying information and falsifying business records.

She was scheduled be arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court, Hempstead.
