Forbes: Old Westbury Among Most Expensive Zip Codes in the Country

Forbes has revealed its list of America’s Most Expensive Zip Codes for 2014, and the list includes several Town of Oyster Bay communities.

Out of the 500 most expensive zip codes, Old Westbury (11568) ranked 49 with a median home price of $2,818,307 and an average of 301 days on the market.

Other zip codes on the list included:

• Glen Head (11545) – #83, Median price $2,143,887, Average days on the market: 184
• Locust Valley (11560) – #197, Median price $1,407,851, Average days on the market: 191
• Roslyn (11576) – #322, Median price: $1,140,617, Average days on the market
• Oyster Bay (11771), – #216, Median price: $1,371,827, Average days on the market: 197
• Woodbury (11797) – # 339, Median price: $1,097,855, Average days on the market: 142
• Syosset (11791) – #357, Median price $1,058,060, Average days on the market: 131

According to Forbes, its annual list of America’s Most Expensive Zip Codes is based on data from Altos Research, a Mountain View, California-based real estate analysis firm.

For this ranking, Altos calculated the median home prices for more than 28,500 U.S. ZIP codes (covering 95% of the U.S. population) using asking prices for single-family homes and condominiums listed for sale.
