3 Nassau High School Football Players Injured In Games

BREAKING: Two teens were airlifted to the hospital after separate incidents on Nassau high school football fields Saturday morning.

Three Nassau County high school football players were injured during games Saturday morning, Nassau Police said.

A 14-year-old boy collided with a 15-year-old boy during a junior varsity game between Garden City and Long Beach at Long Beach High School at about 10:50 a.m. The 14-year-old suffered a severe neck injury and was transported by a police helicopter to a nearby hospital for treatment. The 15-year-old suffered a shoulder injury and was taken to the hospital via ambulance.

During another junior varsity game between Division Avenue and Bethpage at Bethpage High School, a 15-year-old boy fell on his neck and head, causing injury to his back at about 10:15 a.m., police said. He was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
