LONG BEACH, NY — A business ruined by a fire in May has a new home. Sorrento's of Long Beach reopened on Sunday at 768 W. Beech St.

Sorrento's owned the land that destroyed their shop and a neighboring tattoo parlor on Park Avenue.

The Italian specialties store was scheduling a soft opening with a full line of prime beef, chicken and turkey. They still have the Italian heroes and pizza on the menu as well.

"To the city of Long Beach, the support you’ve shown us has been overwhelming," Sorrento's posted on Instagram. "From the cops and firefighters to the buildings dept. to the city council, thank you."

Multiple fire departments assisted in extinguishing the early morning blaze, deemed not suspicious at the time.

Abyss Tattoo moved to a new location at 54 W. Park Ave., next to the train station. Having held an art show last weekend, co-owner Paul Tochluk says they are thriving and are as busy as ever.
