She had a remarkable story of tragedy and triumph. A triumph brought forth from someplace deep, a place inhabited by someone close to her. A person who helped shape who she is today.

One long-gone Memorial Day weekend upended Marianne’s life forever. The crash echoed through decades for her and others. But as I heard her story unfold I could see others in it too. Myself included.

I also spoke with the driver who went to prison for the accident. He had much to say, things we all may learn from.

Please read my essay with an open mind. Try to see the mistake that was made as a potential mistake you might have made in The Crash and its Echoes.

Be well,
