Elderly Woman Killed By School Bus While Crossing Nassau Road
Police say the woman was crossing the road Wednesday morning when she was hit by the bus. She died minutes later.
OCEANSIDE, NY — An elderly woman was killed Wednesday morning after she was hit by a school bus while crossing a road in Oceanside.
According to Nassau County police, an 81-year-old woman was crossing Nassau Road near Weidner Avenue at 8:03 a.m. when she was hit by a 2016 Ford school bus heading east on Weidner Avenue.
The woman suffered traumatic head injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 8:28 a.m. Police have not released the woman's name.

No one else was injured. Police say the driver remained at the scene, and that the investigation is ongoing.
