Haunted Dining Experience Comes To Beach House In October

The Long Beach restaurant will offer a Halloween-themed menu and decor.

LONG BEACH, NY — "This is too scary for me," admits The Beach House owner Max Feinberg, who marries the haunted house with a restaurant.

"What makes our concept different is customers are coming into one room and sitting down for a three-course dining and drinking experience," Feinberg told Patch.

The lights are dimmed, the meals are geared to Halloween and costumed actors with make-up complete the show. Of course, the Beach House will be disguised as well as the Nightmare on Beech Street.

"[It] will be unrecognizable," Feinberg said.

It is an all-inclusive $60 fee for customers that includes the meal, such as a bloodsucker salad, a burger on a black bun (called a butchers' burger), or maybe witches' hair pasta (which also looks like worms).

"The goal here is really to transform in the customers' mind that they're no longer on Beech Street in Long Beach. They're walking into a kind of totally different realm," he said.

The transforming takes place from Oct. 8 until the end of the month, with the possibility of extending into November as the dining space is selling out quickly, he said.

"This is for people who enjoy the scary element of Halloween, people who like to go to haunted houses," Feinberg said. "This is definitely a next-level haunted attraction."

The Beach House is located at 912 W. Beech St.
